  About Abergavenny Film Society

Abergavenny Film Society is Wales' longest running film society. It was started by a group of friends in 1978. From the start the Society has shown a programme of films carefully chosen from what they consider the best available from around the world, and our 2011/2012 season, starting in September 2011, is no exception. Click on 'Programme' above to see the full list of films, or select a film from the menu on the right.

Equal emphasis has always been given to the social side of the society and to promote this the society runs its own bar, offering drinks and light snacks before the film and during the interval. Film notes are available on the door and audience members are encouraged to comment on the film they have seen by means of reaction sheets. The latter is a useful guide as to the type of film our audience might enjoy in future seasons.
